About WildLost
WildLost is made by WildLost LLC, based in Boulder, Colorado.
We build outdoor maps for people who care how terrain reads on a screen: clear contours, useful layers, route planning for day hikes and longer trips, offline packages when you leave coverage, and optional cloud sync when you want the same library on more than one device.
Six product rules sit under the maps. Give people as much information as they want — optional readouts for cursor position, elevation, zoom, pitch, and scale. Offer complexity only when they need it — simplicity by default: every layer adds to the Layer Stack the same way, and the catalog is tagged so they can filter and compare. Educate, do not flatten: layer pills open a title and body (Type, Resolution, License, Downloadable), and layer descriptions expand the terms — MODIS Daily names the instrument, NASA, Terra and Aqua, and GIBS. Keep Place search, 3D terrain, and snap-to-trail working off the radio — a region download can pack those extras, not only the map tiles. Never leave them guessing: a disabled control toasts why, the You're offline banner names a dropped connection, the Sync panel names Local only or last synced, and History can Preview or Restore a saved version. Never trap a library in our platform: export the selected route or track as GPX, stay in Local mode, or use GeoJSON profiles so a file can move to another app.
Your map data stays yours unless you choose to share it. We do not sell personal information or turn your tracks into advertising profiles. See What we believe and Your Data: Now and Forever.
